Three teams worked to compose music for the series Visionary Gardeners. The musicians used cell phone footage to capture parts of their process. Featuring Brendan Ostrander & Darren Phillips, Jacqueline Perriam & Erik Abbink, and 2022 Canadian Screen Award nominee Amanda Cawley (Best Original Music, Non Fiction - Ageless Gardens).

“COMPOSING THE THEME”

Composer Amanda Cawley was out for a nature hike, when a bird call inspired the percussive theme music for Visionary Gardeners. Watch the theme develop from the bird call, as it adds layers of instruments, to become the theme used in the series. This webisode was filmed by Amanda and the featured musicians.

Amanda was nominated for a 2022 Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Music, Non-Fiction for Ageless Gardens.
